The Well-being and Resilience Committee supports the holistic health of all College of Pharmacy members – including PharmD students, graduate students, post-docs, staff, and faculty and is dedicated to fostering a thriving community. The committee is charged with developing programs designed to integrate the eight dimensions of wellness and offer health and wellness resources to all college members.
Strategic Imperative:
The Well-Being and Resilience Committee is a strategic imperative for key reasons including but not limited to:
- Stronger Organizational Culture: A committee dedicated to well-being signals that the organization values its people beyond their output. This builds trust, strengthens relationships, and fosters a more positive and collaborative culture.
- Increased Resilience to Change: When individuals are equipped with the skills and resources to manage stress and adversity, the college becomes more adaptable and resilient in the face of challenges.
- Improved Performance & Productivity: Individuals who feel supported in their well-being are more engaged, focused, and productive. Reduced stress and burnout translate directly into higher quality work and innovation.
- Reduced Costs: Proactive well-being initiatives can lower healthcare costs, decrease absenteeism, and reduce employee turnover – all significant financial benefits for our college of pharmacy.
- Enhanced Recruitment & Retention: A strong commitment to well-being attracts top talent (students, faculty and staff) and fosters a positive work environment where people want to stay. It’s a competitive advantage.
- Ethical Responsibility: Organizations have a responsibility to create a work environment that supports the health and well-being of their employees. It’s the right thing to do.
- Accreditation Requirement: The updated ACPE standards require colleges of pharmacy to offer programming and resources for all stakeholders. Hence it is now a necessary component of our strategic plan.
Mission:
To cultivate a thriving and supportive community within the College of Pharmacy by championing holistic well-being, providing accessible resources, and integrating the eight dimensions of wellness into the lives of all members – students, faculty, staff, and post-docs.
Vision:
To be a recognized leader in fostering a College of Pharmacy culture where well-being is prioritized, resilience is strengthened, and all members are empowered to flourish both personally and professionally.
Goal:
To measurably improve the holistic well-being and resilience of all College of Pharmacy members – PharmD students, graduate students, post-docs, staff, and faculty – through the development, implementation, and evaluation of impactful programs and resources aligned with the eight dimensions of wellness, ultimately fostering a thriving and supportive community that enables everyone to reach their full potential.
