The PRV800 HIPAA & Privacy – General training module is required for all members of the workforce* in UF’s medical components and their affiliated entities, whether they have access to health information or not. It presents very basic information about federal (HIPAA) and state information privacy and security regulations.
*The workforce includes faculty, resident/fellows, staff, students, volunteers and third parties under the direct control of UF, both temporary and permanent, whether paid or not.
To conduct human subject research at UF or to use the Institutional Review Board (IRB) as a Privacy Board for research review, all principal investigators, co-principals, sub-investigators, research coordinators and staff with access to research-related health information must complete this training module before research documents are submitted.
*Effective March 21, 2019 HIPPA for Researchers will no longer be available and all Faculty will need to complete HIPPA General Awareness (PRV800). IRB803 will contain the content from HIPPA for Research.

Training can be accessed through the myUFL system by selecting Main Menu > My Self Service > Training and Development > myTraining > Search (top right corner) > You can either search by title or course code.
